Help! Where to Buy Castor Oil?

After reading up on how beneficial castor oil is, we came across the very same question.  Where to buy castor oil?

And the more we searched, the more we realized that it’s not just about where to buy castor oil, but what to look for when purchasing castor oil.

Where to buy castor oil

So, while searching through the many different brands of castor oil, we found that not all castor oil is created equal.  And this little fact narrowed our search down to the the top 5 castor oils on the market.

Choosing organic castor oil was our first step with narrowing down our final options.  We are always looking to purchase the cleanest product possible.

The next step sort of presented itself to us while reviewing all the different castor oils.  We found that many castor oils are treated with hexane.  Hexane is a chemical that is extracted from petroleum and is used as a solvent in glue and as an ingredient in industrial-strength cleaner.  It is also highly toxic and considered a hazardous air pollutant by the EPA.

The real kicker is, because it contains carbon as the primary part of the molecule, hexane products can be labeled as organic.  And, some companies that produce castor oil will use hexane in order to extract the oil.

So, needless to say, we narrowed down our castor oil selection further with only castor oil that was labeled hexane-free.

After we were sure we had the purest selection of castor oil, we read through the reviews and based our final 5 choices on customer results and satisfaction.  And, we even ended up choosing one of the 5 for our own personal use.

Rejuve Organic Castor Oil

Rejuve Certified Organic Castor Oil

This is the castor oil we chose for ourselves and we’ve now been using it for approximately one month.

When first purchasing Rejuve Certified Organic Castor Oil, we intended to use it for our eyebrows and eyelashes.  However, we started using all over our face every night before bed.

And, what we like most about the Rejuve, besides the results, is the texture and how quickly it dissolves into our skin.  The texture is quite thick and it is greasy, but not the runny type of oil that is going to easily transfer onto something else.

As far as the results go, we have noticed a slight increase in eyebrow growth, more manageable eyelashes and softer skin.

The Rejuve Organic Castor Oil is not only organic, but it’s hexane-free and free of GMOs, pesticides and other chemicals.  And thankfully, Rejuve does not test on animals.

This unrefined castor oil is produced in India and is not food grade.  So, be sure to only use it topically.  It also comes in a glass jar, not only for environmental purposes, but also to keep the castor oil fresher for longer.

Overall, we are extremely happy with our choice for best castor oil.  So much so, we will probably be sticking with this particular brand.

Sky Organics Castor Oil

Sky Organics 100% Pure Organic Castor Oil

This is another organic castor oil coming from India.  And this castor oil is sourced directly from organic artisanal farmers.  Sky Organics Organic Castor Oil is hexane-free, preservative-free and free of all chemicals.

Also, this castor oil is expeller-pressed.  And this means the oil from the seeds is extracted with the use of force by a squeezing motion.

Not only is it expeller-pressed, it is cold-pressed.  And, it is a food grade castor oil.  Which means it is safe for its intended use.

What we like about the Sky Organics Castor Oil is, not only the quality, but the quantity.  This is by far the best deal you’re going to get when it comes to an organic, hexane-free castor oil.

What we don’t like is that it comes in a plastic bottle.  And this means the freshness is not going to last as well as it would in a glass bottle.  However, if you go through castor oil quickly, this may be a good option.  And, in that case, it’s important to note that the plastic is BPA free.

When looking over the user reviews of this castor oil, there are over two thousand happy customers.  So, there is little doubt that this product is nothing but quality.

Cammile Q 100% Organic Castor Oil

Cammile Q 100% Organic Castor Oil

Cammile Q makes a high-quality organic, hexane-free castor oil.  It is cold-pressed and comes with a shelf life of 18 months.  The oil is produced in India and is packaged and bottled in the USA.  And, it is a glass bottle so the castor oil will stay fresher for longer.

What we like about the Cammile Q Organic Castor Oil is it comes with a dropper.  As silly as this sounds, it makes a world of difference.  Especially if you want to target certain areas like your scalp or your eyebrows.

When researching the customer reviews, we found that the majority of customers had great results with this particular castor oil.

However, one aspect we are still researching is if Cammile Q is cruelty-free.  We have reached out to the company and have yet to hear back from them.  So, until then, caution is advised with this purchase.

Foxbrim Certified Pure 100% Pure Castor Oil

Foxbrim Certified 100% Pure Castor Oil

If we weren’t so satisfied with the Rejuve, this would be our first choice.  And perhaps, we may venture out and switch up to this one next time.  Because this is an extremely high quality castor oil.

Foxbrim Castor Oil is USDA Certified organic, unrefined, cold-pressed, virgin and hexane-free.  It’s completely free of chemical processing and pesticides.  And, Foxbrim is proud to be cruelty-free.

Like the other oils on our list, this castor oil is produced in India and packaged in the United States.

It is bottled in small batches and arrives in a glass bottle.  Which, will preserve the castor oil better than plastic bottles.

Finally, many users are happy with this particular castor oil and we hear nothing but good things.

Heritage Store Organic Castor Oil

Heritage Store Organic Castor Oil

This is another castor oil where your money goes a long way.  At 32oz, this is an extremely good deal for an organic, hexane-free castor oil.  And, it’s also free of pesticides, paragons, phthalates, and artificial colors and fragrance.  So, you’re getting pure castor oil.

Not only that, the Heritage Store Organic Castor Oil comes in a glass jar and is very much cruelty-free.

As far as users go, the majority seem very happy.  However, there was a couple of complaints about receiving castor oil in a plastic bottle.  And one complaint about the bottle leaking upon arrival.  Mistakes do happen, although, we are confused about how the plastic bottle got into the mix.

Overall, this seems to be a fantastic product and a whole lot for your money.  It’s worth a try.
